A story of Western Australian history. With a lifelong love of design, building and working with wood, Director Darren Smith was destined to start Smith Mill. Not only does Darren live in Glen Forrest (which was originally called Smithsmill), is a Smith and owns a mill, he is a passionate about not wasting our valuable natural resources.
Smith Mill is an environmentally friendly, family run Perth Hills business.
We pride ourselves on our environmental responsibilities of preserving our natural bush lands. We source our timber from fallen logs or from urban development around the hills. This timber would normally be destined for burning, woodchip or landfill.

Most fallen logs can be milled into timber that can be transformed into furniture, stunning wood products or general lumber for a range of building projects. Smith Mills mission is to provide a local mobile timber milling services that allows everyone the opportunity to salvage beautiful and usable timber from fallen unwanted logs on their properties. Every piece of timber has a unique character and feel. Every piece of timber can be transformed into something beautiful. Every piece of timber holds a little piece of Western Australian History.
